love is in the air

this post is about another wedding invitation design – this time even more special as it is for my little sister and her fiance who are getting married a little later this year.  the image depicts the venue: hillscourt, it’s in rednal on the outskirts of birmingham and right next to the lickey hills country park.  the original building is hillscourt house and was built in 1897.  i did some prep drawings on site before coming away to produce the final drawing which was then scanned and digitally coloured.

 

Update:  for the big day i produced a whole load of bits and pieces, including orders of service,  a table plan for the wedding breakfast (a specially created design of their names intertwined with another illustration of the wedding venue), a name/place card for each dinner guest and a set of 3 fridge magnets for each of them too (with all parts printed, cut out, stapled, pressed and individually assembled by hand by yours truly).  here’s a gallery of some of the items…
