inkygoodness beermat character competition

here’s my entry for the inkygoodness beermat character competition – bad-bot and good-bot.

the brief was to take a beermat, make a character on it and send it in to them.  there will be an exhibition of shortlisted character designs later this year.  they’ve done some pretty funky projects in the past, so it promises to be really good.  and for the discerning ale drinker i thought it worth mentioning that my bad-bot is on a two towers brewery baskerville bitter beermat (birmingham’s own, i had to mention them as they make some truly great beer), and the good-bot is on a wye valley hpa beer mat. i had a few ideas for what to do for this, but often it left the beermat redundant and the artwork could have existed quite happily without it.  but i felt that the beermat format as the starting point was important, so i went for a couple of characters where the shape of the beermat was easily recognisable.  hope you like them – i haven’t done any robots for a while, so i enjoyed it very much.
